When I was 6 moths old I would hum every time my parents would put me to sleep. The first song I sang in front of other people was "Nandito Ako" by Ogie Alcasid, I was 3 years old at that time. Because of that my parents enrolled me to voice lesson school.
At the age of 6 I joined the school choir dala na rin ng pag kumbinsi sa akin ng nanay ko and I was the youngest one. I was in grade 2 when I first sang solo at school, if I remember it right it was a medley. I could still remember the costume that we wore, yellow shirt white pants and a white fisherman's hat. In high school I would sing to some events.
As a way of giving back, I also sing in our church. But sometimes I feel lazy which results to not attending the rehearsals. My mother would always say "oh sa school kumakanta ka pero sa church hindi". Having classes every Saturday is not an excuse for me not to attend the practices but I just feel so tired and sleepy.
I am now in college and last August I was given the opportunity to join our university chorale. I attended the training for almost 5 months. Within that 5 months I attempted to just quit because of not having anyone to talk to and because I was intimidated by the other members who are so good. But with all those attempts a part of me doesn't want to quit because singing has been a part of my life. Every time I would attempt to quit I would always consult my mother but she always tell me to be patient. Last November we had the evaluation and I was accepted to be an official member of the chorale. I was surprised that I was accepted, I really thought that I would not pass because I didn't perform well during the process but thank God I was considered, YEY!
Tama nga ang nanay ko na ang mga anak pag nakinig sa magulang maganda ang kahihinatnan. At the end, things would work out pretty well. I am hoping that for the next evaluation I will move to the next level and get a higher scholarship grant.
